  1. I literally sat here since the initial episode was uploaded refreshing the page every 10 seconds waiting for the second episode and I didn't even get the first comment.

ANYWAY, Either of you watched Babylon 5? I'm blazing a path through season 3 right now and it's miles better than any other sci-fi tv show.

    1. Yeah I love Babylon 5. It was a series long epic before anyone was doing that. It has it's flaws, particularly in the first season, but I love it almost as much as I love Star Trek. I paid homage to it at the end of my Star Control 2 review.

  2. I have many different accounts I could've used to post a comment but I chose AIM for the hell of it and I don't know whats up the big jumble of nonsense that is my username.

  3. The opposite of decapitate is to enFrankesteinize.

  4. As far as favorite gas giant satellites go, Enceladus (around Saturn) gets my vote for watery potential. It has cryovolcanos, and therefore it wins at being cool.

    (Sorry)

    1. Ah yes Enceladus is pretty awesome. As I understand it those water sprays go out into orbit and don't they contain some kind of organic molecules, as detected by Cassini? There's certainly a lot to be learned from the moons of Jupiter and Saturn.

    2. Nitrogen, CO2 and methane (so therefore, there must be cows, right? Very cold aquatic ice-cows).

I follow the CICLOPS site updates, they have the most amazing pictures coming back from Cassini.

  5. What are some of your favorite sci-fi novels Jim? I like both hard and soft scifi but I think I lean more soft mainly because it lets the imagination run wild as much as it wants.. I guess soft is basically just fantasy set in a science fiction world with pseudo-science elements.

I enjoy hard as well but it's more spotty with me, it's a lot harder to pull off for the writer in some cases but ultimately more rewarding if you've got a good writer who can balance a good story along with relying on more reasonable science.

    1. I really liked The Light of Other Days and the Manifold Saga by Stephen Baxter. Rendevous with Rama was pretty cool too. Those are fairly hard sci-fi. I like it hard (that's what she said) because it puts real constraints on the tendency to MacGuffin out of things with technobabble and opens up the mind to real possibilities.

    2. I don't mean to link-spam you, but I read this recently and there were a few I hadn't come across before. I'm currently trying Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson, and it's pretty good.

  6. Aww, thanks guys! And don't worry, I am one of those! And it was only through fear of your life coming to a tragic and untimely end, Jim, that I played Dark Castle. I can't imagine any other reason to play it. (Sorry, PacBilly!)

I am ashamed to say that I hadn't listened to your random ramblings until you told me I featured in one. But after 'Japanese Milk Monthly' I will be tuning in regularly, if only to hear more on the subject of robotic drink preferences.

    Stay awesome!

    1. Hey, you're welcome. I think PacBilly meant to elaborate on your channel some more but I distracted him with milk stories. We actually talked about games in the previous one, and will in the next one. Hope you enjoy :)
